Who I am.

I’m a gay guy in his mid 40s who has reshaped his entire being over the past decade, lifting up the shy wallflower I once was, into a confident man who knows his own power and strength.

I smile now, a lot more than ever before.

Where I came from.

Born and raised in Maine, where money was scarce and food quality was poor at best, I grew up burying myself into books and a bag of chips. Movement was not part of my life. I was that weird kid at the dances, the guy full of anxiety and nervousness, who fit nowhere.

What inspires me?

While it started with a difficult chat with my doctor, as I took control of my health markers, got stronger, and found my Inner Voice, there was an ever-rising sense of capability, of curiosity about what my body could do.

This sense of wonder and True Joy in “finding out” inspires me still. I’m still on that same Adventure.

Can I train with you in person?

If I’m local (within 50 miles) of you, I’m happy to work with you in person, whether at your home, or at your favorite meeting spot.

Are you qualified?

I have my certifications from NASM and Precision Nutrition (Nutrition Coach, Change Psychology, and Athlete Training). I’m always taking a new course, and reading all the latest information. I’ve been a gym rat for over seven years now, and a coach for two

Will this really work?

I coach with the same protocols that worked for me, and I’ve lost somewhere near 70lbs of weight, am stronger than I’ve ever been, have a healthy relationship with food, my dog, and the world around me. I see more things as Playgrounds than ever before!

The Process

  • After making your first payment, you get instant access to the Spark App, which lives on your phone (and on your Apple Watch, if you have one)

    Meetings, workouts, group chats, updates, nutritional tracking are all done on the app, along with 24/7 access to me, your Coach, just at the tap of a button.

  • Once you’ve completed the setup of your app, and answered a few questions, I get to work on your preliminary nutrition goals (based around your answers, and our consultation). From there, we start gathering data.

    You track your food, you log your exercise, you keep tabs on your daily habits, all of which the app collects and shares with me. That data informs our meetings - which you schedule right from your app.

    Daily, I check on where you’re at, note any achievements, make comments around the trends I spot, and we work in tandem towards your goals.

  • If you’re within 50 miles of me, I’m happy to arrange an in-person meeting. I can appreciate the desire to have another person with you at the gym to ensure correct form, to adjust workouts on the fly, and to simply help keep you accountable for showing up.

    That said, the vast majority of my clients have enjoyed working with me virtually, and are completely at ease with having their Coach live in their pocket, where I’m accessible at almost any time. Every exercise in the app comes with both a video demonstration and written instructions for the move, and I’m just a click away if you have any questions while you’re working out.
